With an absolute commitment to the natural environment, NEOKEM produces powder coatings, optimizing the safety of its colors without using solvents, heavy metals, or other toxic raw materials. It develops new solutions to address sustainability challenges, aiming to continuously reduce its ecological footprint.
At the same time, recognizing the need and desire of modern professionals to choose green building practices with environmentally friendly construction materials, NEOKEM has developed an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its architectural powder coatings. This provides any interested party in the value chain with the ability to evaluate our products’ environmental sustainability. In this way, NEOKEM contributes to minimizing the harmful impacts of construction projects, safeguarding human health and the environment, and investing in a more sustainable future.
The EPD is a certified and reliable environmental statement that includes verified and quantified information about the products’ environmental impact throughout their life cycle, in accordance with international standards ISO 14025 and EN 15804. A Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study was conducted to determine the environmental footprint of the products, fully compliant with ISO 14040 & 14044 standards.
LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) and BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) are two of the most recognized certification schemes for building sustainability, which evaluate the environmental sustainability of construction. An essential prerequisite for earning additional sustainability rating credits for the building is the use of materials certified with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).
The EPD certificates for architectural and high-performance powder coatings are available in the International EPD System database. The International EPD System is an internationally recognized program for developing, registering, and publishing EPDs for various types of products and services.
